The Niagara Peninsula Needle
Arts Guild was formed in April 1976. Its purpose was
1. to provide facilities for a friendly group of members who enjoy needlework and wish to learn and share
2. to encourage the practice and knowledge of embroidery in all its many forms
3. to work towards maintaining high standards of design, colour and workmanship in all forms of embroidery.
We've now dissolved our guild and this information will remain in place until our contract with the hosting facility expires.
We offer something for everyone, from beginner to experienced. We have a variety of individual interests ranging from the traditional to the experimental, and we provide opportunities to explore all forms of hand and machine embroidery.
We currently offer an evening group which meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month from September to November and January to June. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and run until 9:30 p.m.

The Guild has been instrumental in stitching two large projects which have been donated to the St. Catharines Lock 3 Museum. The first project was the Niagara Heritage Collection, portraying 24 pieces of the region's architectural history. The second project was a Niagara Historical 1876 Map depicting 27 pieces of scenes from the counties & townships in the Niagara region. We also completed a third project which was been donated to the Ball's Falls Conservation Authority. It is on display in their facility.
